WATAUGA COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS
SPECIAL MEETING, MONDAY, AUGUST 19, 2002
The Watauga County Board of Commissioners held a work session to discuss draft ordinances on junked cars and solid waste on Monday, August 19, 2002, in the Administrative Conference Room, Watauga County Courthouse. Those present were: Vice-Chairman Coffey, Commissioner Lawrence, Commissioner Sweeting, and Commissioner Wilkie, County Manager Nelson, Assistant County Manager Geouque.
Vice-Chairman Coffey called the meeting to order at 5:35 P.M.
County Attorney Hedrick reviewed a letter from Wendy Simmons with North Carolina Department of Environment and Natural Resources regarding examples of items that should be included in the Solid Waste Ordinance. The model ordinance sent by Ms. Simmons was similar to what the County was using or one model after Davidson. The County Attorney then reviewed the editing of the Draft Solid Waste Ordinance.
The County Attorney completed three items in regards to the Ordinance. He has edited the ordinance (added items are underlined and deleted items are in strike through type).
The meeting was adjourned at 6:40 P.M.
