The Watauga County Parks and Recreation Department is proud to serve Watauga County citizens and Northwest North Carolina as the largest parks and recreation department in the regions. The Parks and Recreation Department is responsible for the 100,000 square foot Watauga Community Recreation Center, over 180 acres of county public park land, and numerous public river access on the Watauga and New Rivers.
