Description | The Watauga Community Recreation Center is seeking qualified individuals to lead and instruct various home school, holiday, special populations, and senior arts & activity programs. AA Leaders will be assisting & leading classes in rooms and areas throughout the WCRC such as the gymnasium, spin room, fitness area, and multipurpose room. The desired candidate will assist in leading arts & activities for various populations in the WCRC. This candidate will provide impactful health and wellness benefits to the WCRC membership through exercise, activity, motivation, and consistency of classes. AA Leaders will assist and lead classes during designated times within the facility. Responsibilities will include preparing activity agendas; setting up class areas prior to the start time; cleaning the area after the class; leading and engaging members through the class; and performing at a high level of energy and enthusiasm. The ability to work with all demographics and populations is required. Ideal candidates shall possess a desire and willingness to make a difference in the lives of youth, seniors, and special populations; CPR & 1st Aid certification highly recommended; education and 2+ years of experience preferred; friendly, personable, and service-oriented demeanor a must. A background check will be required. This will be a seasonal part-time position. Hours will include weekday and weekend commitments, as well as early morning, evening, and holiday hours. WCRC staff orientation will be provided. First Aid & CPR certification may be offered. Additionally, Watauga County Parks & Recreation may provide leadership and additional course certifications to exemplary employees. Wage & Compensation Benefits: $10/hour + free monthly membership to the WCRC.
